Bruce Hood is an accomplished professional sports official and a successful businessman. He has achieved national acclaim for both his ability to speak out on important issues, and resolve disputes in the private and public sectors. He has also dedicated much of his life to community improvement through his work with local and national charities, business organizations, and social agencies.
Bruce was first to referee over 1,000 games in the NHL, including 157 Stanley Cup playoffs and three Canada Cup Series. Following his retirement in 1984, Bruce authored two best-selling books on hockey, and was nominated to the Hockey Hall of Fame.
For over fifteen years, Bruce Hood owned and operated several local travel agencies. Bruce became Canada's first Air Travel Complaints Commissioner in 2000, earning high praise for his success in resolving consumers' travel issues.
Bruce and his wife Daphne live just outside the Town of Erin, where Bruce operates his mediation and marketing business, and plays tennis and old-timer hockey.
